Android & iOS setup
Use proxies on phones and tablets — the built-in Wi-Fi proxy settings of Android and iOS, their limits, and app-based setups for SOCKS5 and mobile data.
On this page
Phones support proxies natively only on Wi-Fi and only for HTTP. For SOCKS5, for mobile data, or for apps that ignore the system proxy, use a proxy client app.
iOS and iPadOS (Wi-Fi, HTTP)#
- Settings → Wi-Fi, tap the (i) next to the connected network.
- Scroll to HTTP Proxy → Configure Proxy → Manual.
- Server:
fr.mobile.gw.proxuno.com(or the static IP /resi.gw.proxuno.com). - Port: the HTTP port, e.g.
10421(residential7000, static8000). - Turn Authentication on and enter the username and password.
- Save, then open
https://api.ipify.orgin Safari to check the IP.
The setting applies to that Wi-Fi network only. iOS remembers it per network.
Android (Wi-Fi, HTTP)#
Menus vary by manufacturer; on stock Android 13–15:
- Settings → Network & internet → Internet, tap the gear next to the connected Wi-Fi.
- Tap the pencil (edit) icon, open Advanced options.
- Proxy → Manual.
- Proxy hostname:
fr.mobile.gw.proxuno.com· Proxy port:10421. - Save.
Android's built-in proxy has no username/password fields. Either:
- whitelist the public IP of the Wi-Fi network in Settings → Proxy access → IP whitelist (see IP whitelist) — works for mobile and static ISP proxies; or
- use a proxy client app (below) — required for residential, which always needs credentials.
Chrome on Android honours the Wi-Fi proxy; many other apps do not.
Proxy client apps#
To route all apps, on Wi-Fi or mobile data, with authentication and SOCKS5, use an app that creates a local VPN interface and forwards traffic to the proxy:
| Platform | Typical apps | Protocols |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Super Proxy, Postern, Every Proxy | HTTP, SOCKS5 with authentication |
| iOS | Shadowrocket, Potatso, Surge | HTTP, SOCKS5 with authentication |
Configuration is the same everywhere: type (HTTP or SOCKS5), server, port, username, password. For SOCKS5 use the SOCKS port (mobile: HTTP port + 10000; residential 7001; static 8001). Enable "proxy DNS" / "remote DNS" if offered.
These apps are third-party software; review their permissions before installing.
Rotating from the phone#
Save the mobile proxy's rotation link as a home-screen bookmark (Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen; Chrome: ⋮ → Add to Home screen). Opening it rotates the IP and shows the JSON response with the new address. Wait 10 seconds between two taps.
Checks and caveats#
- Open
https://api.ipify.orgto confirm the exit IP, and a geolocation site to confirm the country. - With a Wi-Fi proxy, apps can still leak your real IP through WebRTC or by bypassing the system proxy. Use a client app when that matters.
- Push notifications and some system services bypass the proxy by design.
- Battery-saving modes can pause VPN-based proxy apps in the background.
